Tuesday Playgroup at Tournament Park

Hi Dads,

Let's meet this week at Tournament Park in Pasadena. It is on the Caltech campus. The park is located at the FAR END of a narrow Caltech parking lot, which you can enter at 826 S. Wilson Ave. The parking lot entrance is one block south of California Blvd. There are several open parking spaces available on either side of the park gate. Be sure to park in the "Tournament Park" spaces.

ChicagoDads welcomes fathers of all descriptions to our weekly Thursday playgroup.

This week we will meet at Wrightwood Park. The park has a couple of play structures, swings and a sandpit. It's #24 on Mark's Marvelous Map.

By all accounts this is a good time and this year we are planning to make it. Snow be damned.

It's on Saturday and Sunday 10am - 3pm. It's at North Park Nature Center (Peterson and Pulaski). It's free.

Hey all,

I was think about hitting up Big Joe's at 1818 W Foster tomorrow night for Turtle Racing. It is just what it sounds like. The races start at 9-9:30 but getting there early helps to get a table and maybe throw some darts. The drinks are cheap and it's hella' fun. I know a bunch already said they couldn't make it but if you feel like coming out, let me know so I know I won't be drinking alone.

Although the page says "Mothers are welcome," the Navy Pier marketing and PR department assured me that fathers are welcome as well when I call to discuss this with them.

Hello Dads!

We're off to Pasadena's Singer Park Tuesday morning. This is a small park with a nice playground just west of Huntington Hospital. There are plenty of slides, swings and climbers in addition to the beautiful lawns and gardens. For those of you coming from LA or other areas outside Pasadena, this park has easy access from the 210, 134, 110 & the Gold Line. The exact address is 250 W. California Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91105 (at St. John's Ave). There is parking on the streets adjacent to the park.

Tuesday Playgroup (4-6) at Hamilton Park

Let's get together at Pasadena's Hamilton Park, located at 3680 Cartwright St. This park offers two nice play structures, infant swings, a large grass field, a large concrete play area, and a new restroom. The concrete area is ideal for scooters, bikes and trikes. There is not any shade at this park, so bring the hat and sunscreen if it is sunny.

WEDNESDAY DAD'S NIGHT OUT (DNO) @ 8PM in Sierra Madre (NOT the Old Town location)

Been way too long since our last DNO. Join us Wednesday night at Lucky Baldwin's in Sierra Madre. Parking is free and there is plenty of it on the street and around Kersting Court, which is at the corner of Baldwin and Sierra Madre Blvd.

It us supposed to be warmer on Wednesday so if we're lucky we can land an outdoor table. There are plenty of beers on tap in addition to a hearty menu.

4-13 Playgroup at Lacy Park in San Marino

This Tuesday we're headed to the most scenic park in the area. Lacy Park has infant swings, two playstructures, restrooms, and lots of green space for running and playing ball. It also has pavement for bike riding.
