Hi,
If you were on the Box Car thread earlier in this forum, you would have heard a poster extolling the virtues of the Choo Choo restaurant (www.thechoochoo.com). Mike proposed getting together at the Choo Choo on the week of February 28th. In fact, he suggested 11:30 on Monday, February 28.
Anyone else interested in joining us?

That's no problem with me....I just picked a random time to get the ball rolling.
I think there are only three of us (Cliff, Dave, and I) that are planning on going so far.
So, it's now Monday, Feb 28 at 12:45, right?

Okay, we can make it at 12:45 on Monday the 28th. For whoever is keeping count, that would be two of us, a 21-month-old and a 40-year-old.
If we take the Metra out to Des Plaines, we'll be in town a few minutes early -- about half an hour. Is there someplace you guys recommend for me and Martin to hang out for awhile? Anyone know of a park nearby or a toy store within a short walk of the Metra and the Choo-Choo?

Add three more here! (ages 21 months, 4 and 40) Who knows, we may fill the place! I hope they have lots of high chairs and booster seats!

One place to kill time is the Des Plaines library just south of the train station. They have a kids area on the second floor. It's pretty nice.

I talked to Joe H. this afternoon. He said he won't be able to come because his son's violin lesson starts at 1 on Mondays. He also mentioned the library as a good place to visit. He said it's very near the Choo Choo and the Metra stop.

Dave, be sure to write it backwards so you can read it in the mirror!
We got there around 12:30 and got a booth next to the tracks. My kids loved it. Almost too much. My daughter was too distracted by the train to be bothered with food.
We had never been there. We'll go again!
