was the WORST chick flick I've ever been forced to watch. It was SO bad that I had to bleach my brain with disinfectants afterward. That's pretty bad, y'all.

Anybody have movies (chick flick or not) that they have been hating lately?

What movies have you really loved lately? I loved Knocked Up!

What's a movie?

I honestly don't remember the last grown-up movie that I watched. It is so rare to have two hours for a rental, much less, three or four to go to the theater.

But, oh yeah:

Thomas and The Magic Railroad was pretty bad. However, Candyland was a big hit.

Movies and Me

One of the main theaters in the city where I was living, has a show for parents and babies ones per month, I never missed a single one of this opportunities to watch a movie with my little one. I guess it is becoming popular with some theaters to have a especial show for the whole family, babies included.

Anyway, the last good movie I saw in the theater was "Children of men", but for each good movie, there are, at least, 5 no so bad and 10 really bad.

But now that Netflix has made watching movies (or tv series) more easy. I saw the american version of "The Office" and it is really funny. Besides each chapter is only 21 minutes. Nap time for my baby, relax time for me.

In my Netflix queue I do have:
1. The Office season #3
2. Knocked Up
3. The Queen
4. Volver
5. Twin sisters (De Tweeling, Really Good Dutch movie)
6. Pink Panther

What's a movie??

I am so far behind on current movies. I think the last thing I saw in the theatre was Star Wars Phantom Meanace.

All time favorite movies though include:
SlapShot (the Hanson Brothers were invited to my wedding)
Airplane (i & II)
Shawshank Redemption
Band of Brothers (not really a movie, but I've seen the series enough times)
I Robot

Red Box

Any of y'all use Red Box? It's a cheap way to rent movies ($1 a day!!!). They're usually coupled with McDonalds, but sometimes you'll find free standing ones in Wal-Mart or similar places. That's about the only way I watch movies now. The last movie I saw in the theater was Die Hard 4, which was late enough into the evening for me to go with the kids already in bed. Usually now my wife and I will each rent a movie for a buck through Red Box so I don't have to suffer through boring chick flicks ;-)!

I've used it a couple times

I've used it a couple times and liked it, but I'm currently a card-carrying Blockbuster zombie. Their online service is top notch and has yet to fail me. The only problem is-- too many movies to watch. As has been stated here, we rarely have time any more. However, I do try to get the kids to bed by 8pm, so I can relax and have husband-wife time.

$1/day movies not for the procrastinator

Be careful with those movie rental machines. It's definitely a good deal for "responsible" types, but if you can't seem to get movies back on time, it will really hurt you. It's usually $1 per day, up to 14 days, and then they slap you with a "you bought it now" for about $35 !

And yes, I now own "The 300." It only cost me $34.95 and I don't even get a real case for it.

I Won't Rent

I don't rent videos, period. But, I'm sorry to say we have Digital Cable with a gazillion kids shows and HBO, don't rent via On Demand at all either.
It's good for wintertime entertainment and used a little in the warm months.
There is too much to do before the teenage X-Box PS III zombie years hit.

I agree JPhillip...

...but $1 a day rentals are PERFECT for the super cheap, like me! And yes I tend to be quite responsible, but I can't justify paying more than $1 to watch a DVD that I may or may not like when something like Red Box is out there.
