VAMPIRE WEEKEND- a young band from Brooklyn that sound like Sublime covering Paul Simon's Graceland album
I just saw Band of Horses live, and they were pretty intense. I don't like them that much because their tunes are a little samey, but the vocalist is superb- like Perry Farrel meets Jim James.

hey guys i'm new here. And i saw this post, and i had to post my music that i love.
Pearl Jam
Nine Inch Nails
Pink Floyd
Coldplay
Dave Matthews
Mofro
If you guys dont know who Mofro is google them and listen to some of their music. U will really like it if you like to listen to good music...

Welcome to the club. I'm pretty new here also. I've not heard of Mofro. I'm gonna check them out. Pearl Jam is one of the best ever. I just recently rediscovered Stereo MC's. I'd forgotten that they are pretty good.

"I also got into Looper via Belle & Sebastian. B&S led me to Looper, The Gentle Waves, Isobel Campbell, The Reindeer Section, Snow Patrol, Arab Strap and a few other Scottish bands. I have a playlist on my iPod called "Scotland!" filled with these plus Teenage Fanclub and The Delgados."
Hi five!
Check out The Essex Green. I help them manage their myspace, and I'm friends with the band now. myspace.com/theessexgreen. I think you would like it, for sure. They aren't Scottish, but they're one of the Elephant Six legends (like Of Montreal, Apples In Stereo, and Neutral Milk Hotel)

I couldn't take it anymore. I banned them from the apartment. Laurie Birkner does kick ass though.

i totally understand sixstates. when i go to concerts i also feel old and like what the hell am i doing here with all these kids. But if you like new and good music which it seems we all do, then you have to not feel bad when you go to them and just have a great time.
oh yea White Stripes are a great band. Jack white is a great musician. What he did with Loretta Lynn was unbelievable and i hate country music. but it was a great album

Yeah, that tune he did with Loretta Lynn was great. He's incredible. Actually, it turns out the kids LOVE the White Stripes. I'll be flipping through the channels, and my two-year-old son will let out a yip after like two chords of a Stripes tune and they'll yell for me to turn it up so they can dance. The Beastie Boys, too. The kids love 'Sabotage.'
Ah, the therapy they will need . . .

I had a radio show in college. Our opening theme song for every show was Sabotage!! We'd go crazy in the booth and get stupid for the show....aahh, memories.

Panda Bear- Person Pitch
Explosions in the Sky- All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone
Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam
The Apples in Stereo - New Magnetic Wonder
Bedhead - Beheaded

Skynyrd, Allman, and Grateful Dead can't miss with some meat on the grill!
Currently - listening to Mano Chao-esperando, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones-Outbound, Bob Dylan-love and theft, SuperTramp-breakfast in America, Phish-A live one-2nd disc, the Footloose soundtrack.
A few months ago I couldn't get enough of the The Flaming Lips - because of this my sons favorite song is the yeah, yeah, yeah song. He frequently says yeah yeah yeah aaaaahahhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaa, with all your power. It's pretty cute.
Eric-I wanna hear that Ukelele rendition of Yoshimi battles the pink robots.

I have the movie AND saw them live when they were at the House of Blues in Chicago a couple of years back. When I say "them", I mean a rough approximation of the band, with only one member who was actually in the movie...the appearance coincided with a DVD release of the movie.

I mentioned before that I really like listening to "The Verge" XM channel 52 these days. A lot of good music there. I also told a few guys about taking my wife to see Leslie Feist. That was a lot of fun.
When my 2.5yo was born, I started singing Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds" to him. It makes a great lullaby, especially to soothe crying "'caus every little ting...is gonna be alright." I still sing it to him at bedtime to this day.

Queen (first, foremost, and always), Shooter Jennings, Skynyrd, Dixie Chicks, Bach, Snoop, really too much to list. Right now I'm eagerly waiting until Cas Haley's drop on iTunes on the 14th.

I've been wondering when someone was gonna list these guys. A friend of mine is a huge fan. Whenever we went out, if he had his FM T-shirt on, people would stop hi all the time to rave about Flogging Molly. They have some really die-hard fans out there,
