Hey guys,
This email was sent to the BACOCA list serve for the areas of Brooklyn including my old hood Carroll Gardens. CG Park was the firstplay ground my daughter ever went to. The animals moving into that area astound me. They are monied ex-Manhattanites who think Brooklyn is theirs to gobble up.

All I will say is this guy is lucky an AHD wasn't there. I would have seen if he wanted to "dance with a man, " real fast and had the cops on the phone even faster. If you don't want to read the email a man kicked a little boy in the shins becasue he was "bothering" his son.

"Hey all - just writing about a disturbing incident that happened to my five-year-old son in Carroll Park on Thursday afternoon. At approx 4pm he ran into the big kids' playground w/ a friend while my sitter was chatting just outside that area. A few minutes later she heard him crying and ran in there looking for him. When she found him, another boy's father was next to him loudly demanding to know who his parents were. As my sitter crouched down to see what the problem was, my son started saying that this man kicked him and when she caught wind of that and stood up to address the man she found he
had taken his son and left the park. From what we can gather,
through my son's account (he has a bruise on his leg) and that of another sitter who caught the tail end of the incident, my son had grabbed this guy's son and the man was so incensed that he marched over, kicked my son in the shin and started nastily berating him. Now, clearly my son shouldn't be grabbing other kids, but I don't think there's any excuse for a grown man to kick a child.

I'd like to speak to this man about the incident, but have no idea who he is. So I'm wondering if any of you happened to witness this and know who the child or his father are? If so, please email me off list and let me know what you saw. I'd like to make sense of what happened and have a little chat with this guy if I can. Thanks."

My wife is often stopping me

Not a fan of corporal punishment as it is (the wife has stopped me on many occasions from getting medieval on some jackhole that's beating their kid in public), but the moment you screw with my kid, or I see you assault a child in any way, it's on like Donkey Kong. I carry this everywhere I go (that's legal that is and in this state that's most everywhere), I've trained in several martial arts (and about to start another), and I can drill a nat's ass at 300 meters with iron sights or put two in your chest and one in your head before your body slumps over. Assault a kid around me, I dare you. By the time I'm done, the police will have little to worry about, and they'll thank me for it.

Tell me about it.

Or any kid in a f'n playground! The nerve.
I've had screaming matches a few times with douche bags (can we say douce bag on this site?) But hurting kids? I don't feature that.

I looked into these but possession of mean three months in the slammer in NYC: http://www.lexanknuckles.com/

What gets me Will - and the rest of the gang here at AtHomeDad Labs - is that our presance as Fathers in the park or play space, or what have you , is looked on with suspission. I gotta say my bieng a man has shooed more than one creep out of the park. But I could soap box on this one forever.

Be Seeing You.

Ah NYC

Sadly one of those back waters that'll never make sense... like most of the state of California. Just get yourself a good cane. Innocent on the outside, and with a good solid core, strong enough to lay the smackdown when necessary.
