Bummer:

First we lose the five second rule (well, it really just changed the excuse to "stimulating our kid's immune systems"), and now this from the same team shedding some scientific light on double dipping:

I hope everyone enjoyed their Superbowl guac & chips!

Just wondering.

When you give a sick child some tylenol or advil from the dropper that doubles as the bottle's top, does it make sense to put the slimey dropper right back into the bottle? The dropper is all slimed up with cold or flu saliva.

Am I supposed to be wiping that thing off with alcohol or something?

re:Just wondering.

You should clean it thoroughly!! First take the dropper apart. Run the tube under scalding hot water to clean outside and inside. It's best to make sure you get a good stream running through the dropper to ensure cleanliness. Then, boil the entire dropper for 5 minutes. Set off to the side to dry in a sterile environment. I recommend a 3'x3' sterile environment made by Class Biologically Clean. It's user friendly and the company is a small family run business. Once the dropper is dry, remove it from the sterile environment and put it back together. REMEMBER TO WHERE GLOVES (powder-free). If at any point during this process you breath on the dropper.....start over and do it all again!!
Or
Just put it back in the bottle.

Had the Same Thought

But it generally crossed my mind just as the dropper was going back into the slime.
