Tree houses

Just a quick question about tree houses:

Has anyone built one? My kids are getting to that perfect age, I think, where they can help with little bits of it, they're not going to be too busy this summer, and I think they would make great use of it.

But I was wanting something simple and not really attached to the tree (more like it's surrounding the tree and not causing much damage -- I'm a sortuva treehugger).

Anyone have any access to plans, or any other suggestions?

i'll see if i can find the book my wife got the plans from because they were pretty simple and it didn't cost an arm and a leg

Tie off

A neighbor I had growing up tied a treehouse to the tree. It was cleaverly built and clamped to the tree but he figured if he needed to repair it it was easyer to cut the rope than un nail/screw the thing. You need think rope though not laundy line. Don't use climbing rope - if you do ask for static not dynamic line - as it does not hold knots well. Grated once you have the line taught you want it clamped or otherwise afixed to the tree,

Be Seeing You.
