Wanted to introduce myself real fast. In a few years, I went from being in the Marine Corps and a Deputy Sheriff to working as a Lumber Broker out of my house, and then taking care of my 17 month old. Answering work calls with a screaming baby in the background has been a huge adjustment but its paying off.

I have needed a place to go to talk to other people doing what I do and I can't explain how thankful I am to find this place. All of my local friends do the traditional stuff and really don't understand what I do. I look forward to talking to you guys and making some friends.

Josh

I'M NOT ALONE ANYMORE!

Even if you are an Auburn fan and former jarhead. Welcome to the tree house.

New Guy welcomes New Guy

Welcome. I am new as well (about 3 weeks). The site is great! The best part is just like you said, in that your "local friends" don't understand the trials and tribulations of a SAHD. Here everyone has the same or similar issues, and the advice is great.

I also work from home part-time. It is hard to talk on the phone when the kids are home. I now use email as much as possible. Obviously phone calls need to be made, and I try to schedule those during naps (the kids naps, not mine).

welcome

You found the right place / people. Whether you need to laugh or advice you will get it. You may not like it but you will get it and may become slightly addicted. I work from home as well and when my son is napping and I should be working or something else I am on this site. Good luck, and enjoy this happiness. I wouldn't change it.
