Yesterday doing the groceries, I made a BIG mistake and now I have a full week to look my self for forgiveness, Here what happen to me.

When explaining my son about something in the supermarket, I picked a set of beer as fast as I could, so he didn't get to much cold, I made the mistake of picking the wrong beers, and I didn't notice that until the diner when I was ready for my delicious beer.

It happen that the beer I picked is more yucky than a hot Guinness, it is "Cherry Wheat Beer" from Sam Adams.

So to get forgiveness from my self, I decided to drink all of the six bottles this week, and every time I will say "mea culpa" sip, "mea culpa" sip.

Yuck

Ouch!

That Cherry Wheat is rough. People either love it or hate it. I guess you would fall into the later grouping.

beer is beer sometimes

I came home on Sunday, CT = no alcohol sales on Sundays and my wife was drinking a beer on the couch while our son took a nap. I said, "I want a beer," went to the fridge and there was not a beer to be found. She drank the last beer. I would have drank that Cherry Wheat free of mantra.

CIA

From the Hartford area but I lived on the crazy mess of I-95 in New Haven. They changed the law and now liquor stores can stay open until 9:00pm Mon-Sat. woo hoo!!!
You were close enough to New York and I am close enough to Mass. to get some booze on Sunday if needed.

If you try to kick dkremers in the balls at the convention, I am going to get pretty upset with you. Some people like fruity things. In fact, I have promised to drink a wine cooler with him. And, I hope it is berry flavored.

The worst beer I've ever had

The worst beer I've ever had was a peppermint Christmas beer by our local O'Fallon brewery. I took one swig and then gave the 11 other beers to my Sister in Law, who promptly drank them up.

My name is Dayv, and I like Fruity Beer.

I admit. I have a problem. I like fruity beer.

When I was bartending at the micro-brewery/bar, we had a berry wheat, and I liked it.

That is all.

Worst Beer

I hate fruity beer! I bought the Sam Adams variety pack, and couldn't stomach the Cherry Wheat.
The worst beer ever I have tasted is Buckeye beer made in Columbus, OH.

Boston Beer Works

Every summer they have a blueberry ale where they actually put about a quarter cup of blueberries and a touch of sweetener (juice or syrup, I guess) into your pint glass. It is really really good. They also had one for a while, where they took a narrow slice of watermelon with some other secret ingredient and put it into the pint glass. Another pretty darn good beer. Maybe it was the freshness of the draft beer and the fruit that made it work.

When they first started serving the blueberry ale, the blueberries were already in the beer somehow, but it clogged up their beer lines, so they started adding them after the pour.

I think the worst beer to

I think the worst beer to have right now would be the Samuel Adams with bits of ground glass!

Yep

Gotta go with KevH on this one. Also, fruity beer sucks. But not as bad as ground glass beer. But that's just my four non-fruity non-ground glass Yuenglings talking.

Rasp & Blueberry brews...

I used to be very against the fruitnesses but I'm proud to admit that, considering their higher alkeyhall content than domestic brews, I'm totally sold!! Though, if cash is tight, I'll grab some South Paw or that piss-water Yeungling crap.

Here's one of my favorites: Purple Haze by the Abita Brewing Co.

Hey Silent

Based on the way you throw the disc, I'm not at all surprised you dig fruity beer. No offense to other fruity beer drinkers out there, notably Davy27 and JPhillip.

Now, wait just a minute...

Normally, I am not a fruity beer drinker. And, I do not like any kind of wheat beer. I was referring to one particular place and time where it was good and I liked it. And, it was an ale, not a wheat beer. So, no kick in the nuts for me. Dayv, however, is fair game for a swift kick in the kitty.

As long as Dayv keeps the coolers full of free beer, that won't be a problem.

Where's THAT convention?

And as long as you don't get me drunk on the shitty beer that prompted this thread in the first place I'm down.

(That was me trying to put this thread back on topic.)

FAIL.

Free Beer?

I've been called a miracle worker, but free beer? Ya'll better find some sponsors!!!!!

In all seriousness, yes, there will be wine, beer, some wine coolers, some fruity beer, and for my evil twin a bottle of vodka, (no absout!!!!!) and some non-adult beverages for the meet & greet, but we still need some sponsors.

PLEASE if you know anyone or any corporation who would like to sponsor any portion of the event, please let us know.

Remember there is an event outside of the meet & greet and Saturday dinner that is actually the reason we all go to the convention. That's where we need help.

For more information on sponsorships and supporting the convention, please visit the convention site.

Thanks!

Sorry Dayv

I didn't mean to make you sweatsoak another hockey jersey. "Free" is a relative term. Sponsors take care of the great information sessions and special events. These make up the real convention.

If there is "free" beer in a cooler at an impromptu gathering, it was put there by a generous dad or two after making a run to the local quick mart.

Thanks Dayv for reminding us what the convention is really about. And, thanks for all of your hard work. I, for one, am still racking my brain for sponsors.

October...

Right on to the Purple Haze. Had my best man make sure the limo was stocked with it at my wedding and toasted to all with it right after!! I am no huge fan of the fruitty ales of any sort, but this is one of the best beers going. If you have a chance check it out...and if you are not into trying out something new thats way out of range slowly dip into the Abita family with TurboDog...great great stuff.
