I just wanted to pass along thanks to Mothering Magazine for adding the 2008 13th Annual At-Home Dad's Convention to their calendar. They published an ad/article/blurb about the convention, written by some incredible author, last month, and followed up with asking if they could add us to their events calendar. As soon as I get my laptop with the website construction free-ed up from another project, they will be added as "publicity provided by".

Mothering Magazine

When our 1st was born, we'd read Mothering all the time. It was more in line with how we parent. They lean towards a more natural parenting style with less ads. I think it's a great magazine.

Well there goes...

...the whole hill of beans. Now they are going to have to rename the magazine "Parenting". Oops...too bad that's already taken by another magazine that fronts itself as being for "parents", "parenthood", and "family" and then fills all of its pages with articles that solely reference "mom". Think I'm bitter about this?

It's All Good

I understand and agree with the complaints posted about parenting magazines not giving equal billing to fathers (posted 7 weeks ago), but as they say "Any publicity is good publicity."

If the Mothering Magazine article about the convention encourages at least one more at-home dad to come out of the pantry and/or attend the convention, then it was worth having information about the convention posted in it or any other parenting magazine.

Looking forward to seeing you guys at the convention.

Keep up the good work Dayv.

Congratulations

I know this convention is your "baby" and I'm sure it means so much to you to watch it grow in size and stature. Congratulations on this great publicity. It would seem that the Sacremento convention may be your biggest yet!

I'm very happy with the response so far this year. Yes, I'm very passionate about the convention. The first convention I went to, the 8th annual, made such an impact on me getting me ready to be an at-home dad, that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to keep it going when the chance came up. I really am hoping for this year to be the biggest yet, and hope that you all spread the word!

...what convention?

Convention? What convention? There's a convention?

Oh yeah, now I remember!
