I'm a WoW junky.......

plus my 2.7 has been sick with ear infections and our sleeping patterns are all screwed up....Hospital 2 Sat. ago--uncontrollable fever ( shes susceptible to Feberal seizures ) puss in both ears....We give her an antibiotic..... guess what, it is from the cephalic family of antibiotics .... SHE'S ALLERGIC ... she turns into one big RASH...and a very unhappy little DEMON!!!!!!!!!!!! A satan spawn!!!!!!!!!!!!
5 doses of Benadryl later no rash. The ear infection goes away, YEAH happy times ensue...
This past Sunday night ...3 am "DADDY DADDY DADDY"
Kaitlyn no fell well....Barf all over me..... Wow shes hot... to the tune of a wopping 104.9 temp... Back the the E room...
She has another ear infection ..... Told the doc what she is allergic to.. "OK fine" He says ,so he gives her a dose of another antibiotic from the penicillin family.... Cephali is a derivative of Penicillin ......!!!!!!!!!! She is Allergic to all penicillin.... Dohhhhh... rinse and repeat the ending from last ear infection.

finally we got everything strait and KGA is on her way to a full recovery and our pediatrician is talking TUBES in her ear? I'm kinda hesitant .
Anybody else deal with these for their kids? I need more info before i move forward?

Tubes

I had tubes as a kid and they worked like a charm. I;m sure it's much more sophisticated now then it was in 1975.

Tubeie boy

I had the tubes put in as well, and now I am deaf above 10-12k range, which is not a big deal because you are getting up into the dog frequency levels there, and there is no telling if it was the tubes or working at a night club for 5 years that caused the deafness. But they did stop all the ear infections.

I would do the tubes

Our first had multiple ear infections starting at nine months. After 2 months and at least one antibiotic allergy, we took her to an ENT for tubes. No problems since. She is now almost 3 years.

Our second got an ear infection at 8 months, and we took her in for tubes right away. She is now 14 months and no problems. There is a bigger chance at ear damage from the infections than the tubes. The tubes are very safe, and effective. I have a medical background (RN) as does my wife, and we were very comfortable doing the tubes. The procedure takes minutes, so they are only under anesthesia briefly.

Your child will thank you, and you will get some rest too. You will see their personality come right back.

Good luck CiaAlum92

Tubes

I had tubes put in 2 or 3 times when I was younger, and they were great. They are perfectly safe, and they are very effective. Like Mr. Dad said, there is a much greater risk of severe and lasting ear damage from recurring ear infections than the tubes. Take her to get them very soon, and I guarentee you that she will not have ear infections any more.
