Hello every one.

Joshua Here. From St Johns Michigan, formerly from lansing michigan.
Im a 26 y/o father/husband, with two children and my wife and i will be married 6 years in june.

I have been an AHD for about 2 years now, before that i was a cable installer.
I lost the job when the company downsized and have been doing house work sence.

*** PROPS TO THE AHM!!!!***

in the first year i realised how much at home moms go through.
i used to think "its house work hun, not rocket science.. some dishes, pickup, laundry how hard could it be"

personaly i think she was underpayed! lol

Although i do hope to return to work some day, i would never trade this opportunity i have been given.

Welcome to the site! It's a great place to hang out, learn about all sorts of stuff, some related to being a SAHD, some not, some useful, some ridiculous but all of it fun and interesting.

I agree: I wouldn't trade this opportunity for anything. Almost 6 years now and it's the best job I've ever had. But I too look forward to getting back into the work force.

Cool, More of Us

Welcome Joshua (do you go by Josh or just Joshua -- I only go by David, not Dave so either is cool to me), from one Michigander to another. I'm part of the Grand Rapids group. You are doing one of the best and most frustrating jobs you could ever have. And most of us wouldn't trade it for anything (although there are days!). Hope to see you on here a lot and at the convention in November!

Nice to hear from more AHDs in the up here in the north (I am in Wisconsin).

You have taken on the hardest (at times), but most rewarding job in the world.

This activity is a piece of cake. You can't really call it a job. Everyday is Saturday! And, hooray for Saturday! How is it that we are getting away with this? You know why a lot of moms resent us? It's because we have discovered their secret!
