Kay, so, I know I am behind the times on this, but the wife and I got our first real kids free date in over two years, so we went and saw Iron Man.
HOLY FREAKIN CRAP. This movie is AWESOME. The actors were very well chosen, the acting was superb by almost everyone, the cinematography was fantastic and flowed smoothly, and the CGI was virtually seamless. I truly give Iron Man an enthusiastic 10!
That, and I got to spend some time with my honey before during and after the movie, and it was amazing. SO, all in all, a fantastic night!
Iron Man!

But not without flaws. The ending sucked. I don't like whom they chose for the upcoming role. If you're clueless about what I'm talking about, you didn't watch the whole movie, there was an extra three minutes of the movie after the credits. They should've touched more on Stark's alcoholism, but somewhat forgivable in that the image it portrays to the kiddies (despite the fact that these types of films should be for adults and not children) and Downey's own struggles with alcoholism. Outside of that, I loved it.
I went to the new theater in the new uber shopping development by myself. The wife isn't big on movies, much less any that I show a lot of geeky interest in. The nice thing about this new theater is the 21+ seating area. Private balcony, all leather extra-wide rocking reclining seats, reserved seating, easily the best $11 matinee I ever spent money on. And did I mention the full bar and wine tasting area? Cracking brilliant. Will be seeing The Dark Knight this way.

Briesman -- kids free date, great Iron Man movie (I've always been a huge Downey fan anyway), probably a good dinner out. I agree. Three for three. Rocks.
Will -- I agree. Great, but ending sucked (I was okay until about the last ten words. Ruined it for me, even though I know others will like the twist.) BUT, I have to know who they chose "for the upcoming role." I must know! I would actually love to go and see it again and wait through the credits, but I haven't won the lottery yet, so I don't think I will be able to afford another showing. I used to have four kids. Had to sell one to afford the movie price. Tell me!

It was Samuel L. Jackson as Col. Fury (from comic book fame), and he invites Iron man to join The Avengers. Incidentally, the Avengers is planned three years from now, and should include the actors from Iron Man, Hulk, and the upcoming Thor, Capt. America, and believe it or not, Ant Man. Also, Tony Stark (RD Jr.) will guest star in the new suckfest Hulk remake.

Clooney would've been the better choice and would've kept with cannon of the character. But they could've gotten the Hoff to reprise the role...
