Haven't seen 50 minutes of awesome hockey in a looooooong time!

And by 50 minutes, I mean 20 mins of OT, 20 mins of OT2 and then 10 mins of OT3! Pens dominated period 1, then disappeared for the next 40, only to re-surface for the OT.

Wow... I think we're gonna be seeing a lot of Pinky, Dinky, Do and Elmo tomorrow, me gonna be wiped out for the morning hours me thinks...

Dayv, any comments? Was nice to see a legit PP rather than a lame one be the cause of the game winner. Gotta like, Gotta like! You still root for the Patrick or you hating on my Pens?

Cheers,
PittCaleb

My favorite team is anyone

My favorite team is anyone playing against Detroit, so yes, I'm rooting for the pens. I even have scars now from where the cat was sitting on me and I jumped up and screamed with the Pens scored the winning goal.

I was hoping the pens didn't score on the Goalie Intereference calls, those were questionable, and I'd hate to hear the controversy. I'm glad the powerplay goal was a legit one. GO PENS!!!!

And if nothing else, the Pens stretching the series, stretches the hockey season that much farther!!!!

It was a legit high-stick

But my bitter self bets that someone bit his bottom lip as hard as he could once that stick got up to his face. Not that the Pens needed the 4 minutes. Nice shot. Sykora called it earlier, too.

Only reason I was not

Only reason I was not rooting for the Pens last night is that my wife is a die hard Wings fan. Being a Chicagoan, it was fun to see that Sykora called his own shot is nice. It would pretty damn awesome if this wound up going to a seventh game. Nice to see the Pens still have some fight left in them. I agree with Dayv completely on this, Anyone Except The Wings!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doubting legitimacy

If you can bite your own lip as draw blood as low as that injury was, I'm buying you beer for life.

Go PENS!!

Starting now, everyone is undefeated.

Another thugrific Cup final. When, oh when, will we see real hockey played in the NHL, and not football on ice?

There's a reason why I watch so much college, and now, women's hockey (but that's mostly because I can stare at my wife in hockey gear, and it's not creepy).

Wings skate the cup

on enemy ice! I've been a Red Wings fan since the late 70's when they sucked....Reed Larson, Eddie Mio, even remember when Stevie Y was a rookie. This year is sweeter because I shelled out the cash to buy the Center Ice package. I got to follow this team from 800 miles away, so I felt more connected than the latest cups. I had to keep up with the game over the internet since tornado warnings warranted interrupting the game numerous times and took away my HD picture. Good thing I've got wireless on my laptop while huddling in the basement waiting out the storm. Got to share it with my 11 year old daughter who's a big hockey fan and my watching buddy for many of the games.

Dayv, no matter how much you hate the Wings, you have to give credit to Chris Osgood. Kept his mouth shut when it was obvious he was better than Hasek all year. He kept his cool and made some great saves in the playoffs.

Pens played great and we'll probably see this matchup again next year.

So....

...taught my daughter how to raise her arms above her head when I yell "Scores!" and to dance when I chant "Let's Go Red Wings."

A really fantastic series. My heart about stopped when Hossa backhanded that shot at the net with time expiring.

A little late

Since I'm new and just seen this post...

I'm a wings fan from birth.

When we moved to Cali I bought me one of those car flags. My daughter would sit on my lap during the finals and wave the flag while chanting "lets go red wings"
