I thought I would tell you all about a cool site (you probably already know all about it because I am usually the last to find out about cool stuff) but here it is

http://www.paperbackswap.com/

I think the coolest thing about it is that it is not some huge corp. trying to get ya, it is just a couple of guys that thought it would be cool to swap books on a national level, so what is your favorite site? and I think I would skip the obvious ones like YouTube, Google, and of course Athomedad.org!!!

FARK

Most of my internet time revolves around http://www.fark.com.
It's a website where people find interesting news stories and make up hilarious headlines for them. The best part is the comment section about the stories, they are probably the most coherent, informative and easy to read comments I've come across on the internet. They are usually very funny also, lots of inside jokes that you won't understand until you've read a few stories.

sites

I tried Fark a while ago and couldn't get into it. I think I'll go back and give it a try again.

Howstuffworks.com is cool because it explains how everything works from toilets to voice-over-internet-phone.

Babble.com has been a pretty fun site lately. It's a parenting resource for the "hip" urban parent.

For a good time waster go to linerider.com, where you can create a slope for a penguin on a sled using a paint tool. Go to youtube and search "line rider" videos, and you'll see how elaborate these things can get.

Last, I'd like to recommend myregistry.com for anyone having a baby or wedding shower. It creates a toolbar that allows you to pick any item from any online store and include it in your registry. Your guests can buy gifts for you with easy-to-use clickable links in your registry.

I just like fark since it

I just like fark since it gives me late breaking news, funny stories and a sort of "conversation" without having to go very far.
Kinda like reading the paper outloud to the wife while she nods and says, "Yes, Dear" lol

I don't read many parenting sites (except for this one), they just don't interest me much.

Anybody had a chance to

Anybody had a chance to check out the internet site that Al Gore co-owns called current.tv? I swung by there today, and it seemed like a cool version of youtube, but with featured channels (pods) produced by the site's multi-media news team.

I only glanced at it, but I think I might go back and spend some time there. Apparently, Gore is hands-off, so there isn't a huge environmental subtext to the site or anything.

Yea TickTock, I tried that

Yea TickTock, I tried that registry you recommended and I gotta say its really great!!!! I have twins and i'm a single parent and I found MyRegistry.com to not only be useful for their upcoming birthdays but i'm setting up a category for their Xmas list as well. My family has responded really well and its made my hectic life a lot easier since I can add gifts from any store I want. I also set up a College Fund for them so that people can contribute any amount whenever they want to visit the registry. I recommend this for all parents!!!!!!!!!!!!

here's two

Other than PokerStars.net (which is a naptime diversion). It's www.theonion.com and for crude, bizarre, and totally irrelevant cartoon humor try www.homestarrunner.com (strongbad emails are my fav)

Aye, there's nary an animal alive that can outrun a greased scotsman...

My Sites

I spend an inordinate amount of time on Pogo.com, since I am a huge casual game junkie. I second the nomination for theonion.com...funny headlines AND funny stories. Lastly, heavy.com for plenty of time-wasting material.

pogo

I spend a lot of time on pogo too. I also read a shooting board, a goalie forum, and a lot of different news stuff.
