Hi everybody! First of all I have to say I'm impressed with all of the daddy interaction I've seen on this site. I've run across SAHD blogs before while in my own blog ramblings and was saddened by all the faded out and dead SAHD blogs I ran across and had given up hope. Then I actually took some time to search for some good sites and found a few that made me feel that I am not alone in this adventure.

Who me? I'm 34, married for nearly six years, and our daughter was born April 28th. We had been trying to extend our family for quite some time, so this is an exciting time. We decided long ago that one of us would stay home to raise our children. Being that my salary as a import/export trade analyst is much lower than my wife's income the at-home parenting roll fell to me. Luckily, my wife works 7days on/7 days off so she will still get to share in the joys of parenting (and let me get some sleep every now and then). I officially become the 'parent in chief' when she goes back to work in two weeks.

I look forward to chatting with everybody here; especially since my daughter's vocabulary consists of grunts, belches, and screaming right now!

welcome

First, let me ask just what "Electriclime" is all about. Sounds like a forgotten '60s band.

Welcome to the site. It really is a great resource for just about anything related to kids, parenting, being a guy and letting your freak flag fly once in a while (or more often). Enjoy!

Lime

Thanks Dave!

Electric Lime Green is the color of my car; easy to find in any parking lot. Surprisingly, of the 300 or so built there are two others that live in my semi-rural area.

Welcome!

Hey ElectricLime! We're near Dtown also. We live in Ann Arbor. Funny, my wife and I have also been married for 6 years (in August) and we have a one year old daughter. Where are you in MI?

Dtown

We're in Romeo; about 30 miles straight north of Detroit (out in the orchards). I can actually see the RenCen off in the distance from a hill near our house. Ann Arbor is a great place; a buddy of mine did his architecture Master's there so I had a chance to spend a few weekends on the town.

Romeo, hmmm, I've never been

Romeo, hmmm, I've never been there but I'm a transplant from out West! We love Ann Arbor and have lived here for 14 years. We just couldn't leave after school.

Great pic of you daughter on your Blog!! You're in for a ride, but it's awesome! My daughter recently started saying "daddy" and giving kisses. Trust me, your little One will make your heart melt like no other women! Our little one has recently discovered the independence of walking. She love it!

Are you an avid chef also? I can't get enough of the Food Network!

Rich HR.

Michiganders

Glad to see there are other Michigan SAHDs out there. With the attitudes in the Detroit area I figured it might not be a manly enough job. Happy to be wrong! Of course, you guys live in altogether different areas.

Nice blog dkremers_1965. I love Lake Michigan though I haven't been out that way in a few years. My buddy has a place in Silver Lake and, as a child, my grandparents used to take me on little trips out to Ludington. I'm a bit camera happy too. I just signed up for a Flickr account and will be adding a slideshow to my blog as soon as i get some pictures uploaded.

As for cooking; I'm not a great chef but I love trying new things. I'm pretty handy with the grill and hope to get into some real BBQing this summer. As you can tell, I love Alton Brown and his Good Eats and Feasting on Asphalt shows. He seems to be the SAHD type.

Maybe we can attend a Michigan SAHD convention when my daughter gets a little older.
