Here's another research request. Although this is an undergrad project, I like this one because it's focusing on the resources available to dads, which is something a little different. So, help out if you can. Here's the info:
My name is Julie Bass and I'm a summer research scholar at Roanoke College in Virginia. My research is on fathers who serve as the primary caregivers for their children. This project is being funded by Roanoke College and has been approved by the Institutional Research Board which reviews all surveys. In addition, I work very closely with my faculty advisor and head of the Sociology Department at Roanoke College, Dr. Kristi Hoffman (she can be reached at khoffman@roanoke.edu).
The main goal of this research is to better understand social experience of primary care giving fathers. In addition, my research is also focusing on the resources available to fathers and which ones they find to be most beneficial. Finally, I hope to create greater awareness for this family arrangement as a viable, working option for families.
I have created an on-line survey that should take no longer than 15 minutes and confidentiality and anonymity are ensured for all participants. The only requirement for participants is that they serve as the primary caregiver for their children. If there are any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering, feel free to skip them.
The link to the survey is: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=_2b8eBI7jte6_2bw16c20T6dqQ_3d_3d
While no names will be used, I will share my results with the users of athomedad.org as well as acknowledge your site for their much appreciated help with my research in my final report.
Thank you very much for your time and assistance! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at jlbass@roanoke.edu.
Relatively painless
Just took it, and it certainly took less than 15 minutes and seemed reasonable and serious. Dive on in, folks.
As a sometimes-qualitative-researcher, I can't resist a gripe: some Likert questions could use a bit of massage (e.g., hard to answer questions about "strangers/acquaintances" responses with one button click since they're too different groups!)
As a Canadian: US support for parental leave? Psh. ;)
Cheers,
Steve

some good questions on this one
Having done a handfull of these surveys, this seemed to capture lots of the common feelings regarding being a SAHD. I'm interested to see the collective results of the survey.
