This month's DNO will be on September 28th at Higgins' Tavern, 3259 N. Racine Ave. (Racine & School, just a short walk from the Belmont Redline/Brownline stop)
The football match(!) kicks off at 7:15
Thanks to Rob for the recommendation.
DNO
Watching the Bears (forgive me) is way down on my list of priorities - just a good pub with a good brew with a bunch of Dads will satisfy me.
What's wrong with our old favorite on Lincoln Avenue, Feed the Beast?
Peter, Charlotte & Dorothy.
Higgins Tavern?
I used to bartend at a local corner joint called Higgins Tavern, 3259 N. Racine (Racine and Belmont, 2 blks from Red/Brown line); Sundays are low key, there's plenty of bar stools, about four tables, with two more by the big screen that can be pushed together for a bigger group. Complimentary dogs and chili for Bears game but you can also order some badass burgers. The Old Style is cold. www.higginstavern.com. The Sunday night bartender is good people.
FTB RIP
Alas Peter FTB is closed indefinitely and don't tell the Yanks but nothing is happening 95% of the time in a football game so there will be plenty of time to chat.
Rob, low key sounds good to me, thanks for the idea.
Should be there about 8PM
Cheers!
Jim
Go Eagles!
I'll be there in my Donovan McNabb jersey cheering against the Bears....

Probable...
I'm listed as "probable". The family and I are spending the day at Wrigley North to cheer on the Cubs as they close out the regular season - the best in a hundred years baby!
DNO is especially appealing, in that one of my favorite pastimes is observing Eagles fans and their shameless behavior, as the Philadelphia football team is humiliated in front of all. Most of us are sure to have a great time!
Alby1 - Chicago, IL
DNO
I would love to come, unfortunately, I'll be at Miller Park performing for all the Brewer fans.
Say "Alby 1", if you and the family are up there, please stop by. I'll be performing magic for everyone on the main concourse level down the third base line from 12:00pm - 2:00pm. I would enjoy meeting you and your family. I may even be bring my wife and daughter too.
Hope to see you there.

DNO
I'm planning to be there to cheer on the stumbling bears especially since Higgins Tavern is right in my backyard. Great venue choice! One word of caution though. It is permit parking on the residential streets after 6:00 PM and because of the state of Chicago's finances, the meter nazis are always on patrol. Parking tickets are a whopping $60 now. It's probably safest to park on Belmont near Belmont & Racine.
DNO at Higgins
It's true, there are parking restrictions on Racine eastward. The tavern usually has spare permits, however. Just ask Jen, the friendly bartender. I hope to be there but my wife is an Eagles fan so we usually fling poo at each other.
Rob
(Unfortunately) I'll be there...
Now, now...don't get your feelings hurt! It's due to unfortunate circumstances that I will still be in town.
I am happy there is a DNO so I can go hang out with all of you guys! We had to cancel out trip to go see the mouse at the last minute. (Wasn't easy telling the kids!) My wife fell and broke her wrist. No traveling for her. At least Disney worked it's magic and refunded our trip 100%! (we didn't have trip insurance) now for the hurting airlines...that'll be another story. Leaving that to our agent.
Anyway, looking forward to Sunday and hearing how Jim liked Michigan. I am Bears fan, win or lose. I am happy to hang out with the guys and if the game is on, that's cool too.
GO CUBS!!!
Cheers!

Guys,
Anyone want our toddler wheels and swing? We're out of space and trying to clean our rooms and storage areas to put our place on the market. Specifically, we have a nature swing (retails for $130) that we call the third arm, great for infants up to 18 mos when you're in the kitchen or the can. It has different sounds, a mobile, different swing speeds and motions. I wish there were an adult size one. We also have a Target bike carrier that's never been used, an extra jogging stroller, one baby car seat combination stroller, and another baby car seat. There's a lot of clothes, too. All of it is in good, safe, useable condition. The only thing we want is for you to come and get it as soon as possible. Email me if you have any questions and feel free to leave your phone. If you're really eager, I can bring stuff to tonight's DNO at Higgins.
