Hay guys;

Reading some post here, and after watching the videos of some people talking about SAHDs, what if we start a topic about how to "Enlighten the people" in what we do.

First, what if all of you ask your spiritual (or faith) leaders, about the position of your faith about SAHD?
Second, What if we share that information in this forum, so we can post a general overview from different faiths?

Maybe this is gonna be really difficult, but it is just an idea that can be develop.

Seen you

One would think being proactive makes the most sense

ITUX,

Would agree that asking our own individual spiritual advisers makes the most sense for us individually. But what we also would like I think is to get some positive recognition for our sacrifice in taking on this most unique role. So far, the only publicity we are getting from "organized religion" is that we are all sinners who are not supporting our families and we are going to hell for it. A lovely thought from the same folks who preach acceptance of all who believe, but churches and Republicans have long known that the easiest way to recruit followers is to find a common enemy or enemies and blame them for all that is wrong in the world.

S@HDs are not ruining society or breaking down the faith of people in churches everywhere. We're just doing a thankless job because it is what is best for our family. We need to get someone on television talking about how this new role is within God's plan for leading a family, however untraditional. Surely, any church that acknowledges that times have changed enough to allow women to preach the gospel when Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 that they should not speak, surely THAT church would have to admit the Bible can be translated/updated to fit modern times in other areas as well. If we can get over that "advice" because now women are allowed to be educated when in Paul's day they were not, which was why they were told not to speak, then we ought to be able to adapt to men at home setting good Christian examples for their children.

I think we as Christians have to stand up to intolerance in EVERY form and not be afraid to speak out against it. Being proactive and attempting to grow your faith and in your relationship with God does not say heretic to me, it says man of God. Preaching hatred against someone that is different than you? That doesn't say man of God, it says scared and insecure in their faith. But sadly it is the world we live in. Be Daniel in the lion's den of wannabe strip mall preachers and show your faith in God to those it matters most to, your family and yourself. By your actions you shall be judged, not by a committee of strip mall hypocrites.

Stay strong for those you love. The rest shall fade.

Making it look difficult. Living the dream.
