I'm looking for playgroups in Hyde Park in Chicago. My daughter is almost 10 months old. I'm a part time SAHD. I'm at home Mon, Wed, and Friday.
Any playgroups in Hyde Park, Chicago?

Holdthresh,
We've got a city playgroup in Chicago that you'd enjoy. If you haven't already, look us up under local groups and sign up with Chicago Dads. Unfortunately, we meet on Thursday mornings which wouldn't work for you. Often guys will post other days when they go to a museum, etc. Right now guys are planning a trip to a play and I'll be planning a DNO (Dad's Night Out) soon. We usually do that on a Sunday night and 8-10 dads usually attend.
Once the weather turns nasty, we head to these spots:
Pritzker Children's indoor building at the zoo (FREE although parking is $$$)
Garfield Conservatory on the west side has a small baby area (FREE)
Notaebart Nature museum in LP has a great crawling area for kids on the north side of the first floor (FREE on Thurs.)
We've also gone to storytime at the Border's in Hyde Park several times for playgroup.
Once your baby starts toddling, head to Ping Tom Park in Chinatown. It is one of my favorite parks in Chicago.
Hope to meet you soon!
Cheers,
Jim

A couple weeks ago a buddy and I took our boys - both 2 years old - to the Harold Washington Park in Hyde Park. It's roughly 5200 S. Hyde Park Blvd. It was really nice. Here's a link.

Also, I'd suggest taking the kids to the Hyde Park Art Center near there. It's a small art gallery that is free. It also has a free parking lot. Great for a bad weather day.
