I will be in Denver with my daughter on the weekend of Dec 26-28 and noticed that the Red Wings are visiting the Av's. I was wondering if any of you guys had a connection for tickets? I know that with the holidays some people might be travelling and unable to use the tickets. We would need two. I can get them on ticketmaster, but was hoping to avoid the fees and all the other junk. Email me to let me know if you can help.

Thanks,

Phil Andrew

Craigslist

I would suggest looking on Craigslist for tickets. I have always had good luck getting a decent price on Rockies, Nuggets and Avs tickets there.

My wife asked me if I had signed up for the 401k yet. I told her I hadn't. She asked me why and I told her I couldn't run that far.

Avs - Red Wings is a tough ticket....

Even moreso now that the Avs finally won in Detroit. My kids play hockey with a couple of Avs' kids, so I'll see if I can round a pair up for you. Any particular price range you'd like to be in? I'll chat some people up tonight for you and see what I come up with.--Alby

Like to stay under....

$90 a ticket. I understand its a tough ticket, but thought I would check all avenues. My cousin's company has a suite, but all the tickets are accounted for.

Thanks for the help!

Sorry Bro'

I am currently enjoying, NOT, the snowy Midwest on our slow drive to Milwaukee.
Sorry Phil, I didn't get a chance to sample beef in Omaha as we passed through 2+ hours late because of, well, snow and dodging a plethora of ditch jockeys. The wife would have nothing to do with me or it. So, I am beaming this live tonight from a NE Des Moines Holiday Inn.

PS: the Sam Adams Winterfest at the attached Bennigan's was most awesome!
Merry Christmas to all!

Sorry we missed ya!

MileHi,

I might have been in the traffic with you headed to our dads night out at the hockey game in Council Bluffs. Slow going heading east through Omaha to get to the game. To add insult to injury, my Lincoln Stars lost to the hometown Omaha Lancers. The dads are making the return trip to Lincoln in March for a rematch on our ice.

Safe travels!

Phil

Avs?

Phil,

No promises, but I might be able to score a couple tickets for that weekend. We won't be here (leave on the 26th - driving to Chicago), but if I get 'em I'm sure we can work something out. (Will Call or something) Dayv will be jealous when you chat it up!

Alby - I didn't know you were in Denver!?! Where?

Jim, I'm in Broomfield & should have tix info by later today

Know some folks with season tickets that I'll be seeing in a couple of hours. Will chat them up and see what I can come up with. Sorry it's taken so long but we've taken turns missing hockey practices with sick kids so we've missed each other this week. Today is game day though so I like my odds.

Odds?

Guys,

what are the odds of finding something? There's a few decent deals on ebay and ticketmaster's resale site. I'd like to get them bought before Monday so I know what I have before the holidays.

Thanks

I struck out on my end. Sorry.

I talked to 4 sets of season ticket holders but all have either already sold their tix or are planning to use them. Take whatever deal you can find on ebay would be my advice. Have a great trip and go Avs!

Got Tickets

Guys,

Went ahead and got tix through ticketmaster. Thanks for the help. I owe you guys a beer if you make the trek to Omaha in October for the Convention.

Entertaining game

Everything turned out real well, except I was one of the 5-6,000 wearing red in the building. Our original tickets were up high in the upper deck and my daughter got a panic attack. The guest services guys were great and found us a couple lower tickets in the kind of "club" level. The season tickets holders around us were a little perplexed why someone in their section was wearing red until I explained the situation and we all got along great. A little different than the last time I went to a sporting event in Colorado wearing red in Boulder.

Got a great deal at the new Hyatt Regency for $65 and ejoyed the stay. Great location right off the 16th street mall. We took the free mall shuttle down by Union Station and walked the couple blocks to the Pepsi Center. ESPN Zones are still overated, but my daughter thought the movie screen size TV was cool to watch the bowl game on.

All in all a good trip. The Wings played in Nashville the night before and got into Denver about 3am. It looked like it took them awhile to get their legs in the altitude. I think they hit the post five or six times. I've got the game recorded from Altitude and will check it out tonight. Av's goalie's neck must be really sore from standing on his head in the last 45 minutes of the game!

Tried to stay in Omaha, but...

On our holiday road trip return trip we planned on bedding down in Omaha at the Hampton Inn next to Nebraska Beef Co. that I had recommended in a different thread. Neither were there anymore and the area had somewhat deteriorated. Now a Comfort inn and BrewBurger. Registered at the Comfort inn in room 110 but got a leaky toilet in the first room so I went to get us moved. New room (112) has black bugs in bathroom so onward we went after getting a refund issued. I was so hungry and looking forward to a choice steak only to denied. The steak co. was BrewBurger now that was standing room out the door so we searched on...

Headed to find another Hotel but we ran out of Omaha quicker than we expected, so onto Lincoln we headed and stayed in Holiday Inn Express near the airport. This turned out to be a 3 months old hotel in shipshape. Quality! Got pizza delivered, quality again! This after the day that wouldn’t end, but it finally came to an end after crossing Iowa. My son chose to sleep with mom so I got a way comfy bed all to myself.

I know not every visit to every city will always be a good one, but we will visit Omaha again.
Milwaukee for instance, it was either snowing like 18 inches deep and 15 below or followed two days later by an inch of rain and 50, gotta love it for what it is! We will be back...
FYI
The Miller Brewing Co. had an incredible light show followed by a short tour through the beer caves and Frederich Miller's ghost spoke to us all before we sampled a very different?? Leinenkugel seasonal holiday beer in addition to MGD in a quick 15 minute slam session before the next tour.
Seeing the apparition was truly cool!
