Hello!
Hmm . . . where to start?

Dad info:
Well, I am a 27 and a new father of a baby boy as of July 15th 2008. His name is Cecil David after my grandfather and my wife's father.

Where I'm coming from:
Back in Fall 2007, my wife's father was diagnosed with cancer. He died in December that year. We found out that my wife was pregnant in early November, so he knew that we were having a child.
In may of last year we moved into our first house. Then in July the baby came and changed our lives even more.
They say some of the most stressful things a person can go through is losing someone, buying a house, and becoming a parent. Try all three in the same year. Heh.
On top of all this, in December we just got done with a major unscheduled kitchen remodel due to an idiot dishwasher repairman who flooded our kitchen and basement.
I'm no stranger to stress.

My son is my refuge. Though it was a difficult transition, I don't know how I would have gotten through this year without his sweet smiling face to remind me what life is all about.

Before this, I was more known for my gaming hobby, and for my game merchandise collecting (www.videogamemm.com is my website to see what I mean). I still get to game some, but it has significantly reduced for obvious reasons.

This site seems like a great resource, and a great place to blow off some steam. Just a warning though, I have a lot of it!

Welcome to the site and to the life

It's kind of like being in the witness protection program. You feel like everyone is looking at you and you wonder if they know your secret. Only here, nobody tries to kill you. But you are careful who you tell and the reactions are no less entertaining.

Sounds like you've got your head on pretty straight for having had the year you did, so keep doing what you're doing. Look at that beautiful little life you and your wife created and keep remembering that he is what's important; the smiles, the time you get to be with him, the milestones in his life you will get to witness. It's very subjective compared to a paycheck, but oh so much better for your mental and emotional health.

Welcome and enjoy. As Jim said, "Post often!"
