Congratulations and I hope we are represented well

Sounds like it could be a great chance to finally get some good publicity/recognition for who we are and what we do. Best of luck with your premiere!

Premiere was GREAT!

Well guys, the premiere was last night for “HAPPY SAHD” and it was fantastic!  It was THE most positive feature on a stay at home dads group I have ever seen or read about, and not just because I’m a little biased with these guys.  It was really great.

It showed to a sold out performance, they even had to turn away folks.  Granted, the theatre was not a huge venue, but it was a good sized place.  The dads featured in the documentary were all so genuine, honest, and just very normal guys and dads.  The way the documentary was really well done and quite funny at times.  We didn’t find out until after the show was over and the filmmaker held his question and answer segment of the evening that the documentary would not be more broadly distributed until he secures the rights to some of the music used in the film and the Colbert Report piece that was also used.  I would be very interested to hear some of the critiques from this audience when it is more widely released.

I am going to be working with the filmmaker to get this distributed to other AHD outlets and anywhere we can get the film out.  The filmmaker plans to submit the film to Sundance and other film festivals once he does secure the rights I spoke about.  It will be nice to see something about AHD’s shown at large film festivals around the country.

It really showed a bunch of “Happy SAHD’s” in Baltimore.

P.S. Mike B. you can take the posting off the home page if you wish.  Thanks for the post.   M.S.

Is it alright if I leave it

Is it alright if I leave it up for a while?   I think this is worth a little more publicity.   Please keep us posted on where this goes and how we can see it.

Also, if there's anything I can do to help, just let me know.

Absolutely

You can leave it up, I'm glad to hear this.  I'm hoping to speak to Michael Schwartz about getting this out to more dad centered outlets like AHD.org.  I will certainly let Mr. Schwartz know that there are many folks offering to help get this out to a broader audience.

Thanks,

Mike Stilwell
