Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the group but have been a stay-at-home-dad for about 6 months now. I was interested in meeting up with other dads in the greensboro area. I have a 20 month old son who I'm home with most days. As you probably know, it can be lonely. When we go to the park, there are moms with their kids but no dads. And, as nice as the 25 year-old stay-at-home moms are to look at, we don't have much in common.
Anyone else out there with the same issues?
In the same boat, brother...
I've got a five-year-old boy at home (and we're just about to adopt our second child) - the wife & I both work, but my schedule's more flexibile so I get to be pretty close to a SAHD. I'm in Winston-Salem, and the resources here for a SAHD run pretty slim most of the time (especially since I'm a bit older than some at 42);
I feel your pain - I've been hoping for to find an active local group, but not much luck so far...
All that being said - congrats on joining up, and welcome aboard! Drop an e-mail, when you can...

Thanks for reaching out, FlyingDad.
I'm 45 so I know what you mean. My daughter goes to school during the week so my son and I hang by ourselves usually. He goes to a parents morning out thing on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 to 12 other than that, we're together. I love him to death but he's not much of a conversationalist at 20 months. When we moved to NC, I thought being a SAHD would be fun but I didn't realize how boring it can be playing choo choo and vroom vroom all day long. I take him to the park and he runs with me in a running stroller but he (and I) need some more social interaction.
My wife is a resident at Moses Cone hospital (Family Practice) so she has a crazy schedule. All in all it was a good move, just a difficult adjustment.
