Ha!  Just saw that one

Ha!  Just saw that one myself.  I thought maybe I was getting too burly :-)

There is a competitive filter option for Adsense that should allow you to block out sites.

https://www.google.com/adsense/filter-online

Bad economy

Well, the economy is pretty bad....  :-)

Just kidding.     You are completely right.   I'm sorry.    Yes, that ad selection is really lame for this site.

For those who don't know, the ads are selected by google based on the page content.   Obviously, that doesn't always work perfectly.

There are some things I can do to help filter things.  I will go do that right now.   It should also improve as google's systems learn over time that people on this site don't click on certain categories of ads.

In any case, please let me know (post here or contact me directly) if you notice any other ads that are clearly not sensible for this site.  Let me know what the ad is for and what page they're showing up on.   The destination URL would also be helpful.

Thanks everyone for maintaining a sense of humor about this.

Hard to miss a target (market) that big

I can just hear the advertiser explaining to Google the keywords he wants to look for and match with:

1.)  Man

2.)  Men

Nice job. Way to narrow that down. The most amazing thing about it is that it took them this long to find us.

Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.

I don't get it.

It seems about as relevant as any of the other ads I see on here.

Adblock

I never knew this site had ads.  I'm using adblock plus on Firefox.  Not that I wouldn't click on ads to find my male soulmate...
