We are beginnin the early process of coming up with session ideas for this year's convention being held on Oct 10, 2009, in Omaha.
One of the things that we want to strive for is a balanced program of expert led sessions, small group discussion sessions, and large group events. This is your chance to share your ideas on what sessions would make you want to come for the first time or return again. Our meeting location (http://www.durhammuseum.org/) has both large, lecture halls and smaller rooms to use for breakouts. We have plenty of space and options to consider.
Obviously, we can't be all things to all people. Our local group is hoping to have an idea of how the program will be put together by June 1. We will then bounce ideas off of the convention planning committee to come up with a finished product. Remember that we are a volunteer, "grass roots" organization that has very little money behind it to offer speakers. We are actively pursuing donations and sponsorships from a number of companies. However, the current state of the economy may limit what funds are available to us this year.
We hope to have registration details available around that same June 1 date. We will update our main site, www.athomedadconvention.com with further details and I will also try to keep everyone up to date on this site.
Thanks for participating!
