FYI, Chicago Park District summer programs registration begins this Monday April 20 at 9am sharp.
Just curious what everyone's plans will be. I sorta don't like the park district options because they seem to skew either to the 6-hour a day, 5 days a week plan, or the one day a week for one hour plan. Ideally I'd like something a little more flexible, and also more variety than just all soccer all the time, or gymnastics til you puke. Any ideas?
Maybe we can all chip-in for a "bowling camp" where all our kids hang out at the bowling alley while we watch ESPN all day.

Thanks for the reminder
Thanks for the reminder Mark
I haven't seen much for Oscar with the Park District. His preschool runs a summer camp so I am hoping he will do that for a few weeks. Otherwise we are going to look for Tball / Baseball and the classes we usually do. Is there still a family swim at Holstein? I need to get them into the water more often.
There is a half day "playcamp" for 4&5s at LP cultural center that runs MWF 6/22 - 7/31 but I would have low expectations. Otherwise the nature center, LP zoo and the botanic garden all run week long camps but I think they are $$$.
Bowling could be fun but I think your daughter would prefer to spend the summer at http://www.arlingtonpark.com/ . A season ticket is only $99 and she would learn about horses, develop her numeracy skills and her Spanish could be useful too. General admission is $7, kids are free every day.
thanks John
Yeah I had actually thought about Arlington, but I recalled that you took Oscar there before and there were no kids activities.
Since Amanda now wants to sell lemonade for $3/cup, I'm not sure her numeracy skills are up to par yet (or maybe they are!)
Holstein does have family swim again. The schedule is posted within the CPD program browser directory.
