Just a reminder that the early registration discount for the 14th Annual At Home Dads Convention ends on August 15th. Go to www.athomedadconvention.com to register. You can save yourself $15 if you register early. We have a scholarship fund set up to help dads who want to attend in convention in Omaha, but don't have the funds. This money was donated to be used specifically to help dads attend this event...mainly from the family of Brian Dickson. Brian was very active in the Kansas City Dads group, but lost his fight with cancer. Email me at the address below and I will confidentially pass along the needed information.
We are nailing down our formal convention program with committments from the following:
Dr. Aaron Rochlen, University of Texas: Dr. Rochlen will be discussing his latest research on at home dads and fatherhood. He will also be conducting new research throughout the day. We pass along well wishes that Aaron's new baby will arrive healthy later this month.
Hogan Hilling, Author of "The Man Who Would Be Dad" and Co-Author of "The Modern Mom's Guide To Dad": Hogan will be leading a discussion group or two on his experiences as a long time at home dad and founder of Proud Dads.
Lance Somerfeld, Founder of the New York City at home dads group: Lance will share his tips and thoughts on starting and growing local dads groups. Lance's group has been featured on the Today Show in recent months.
Brian Reid, Founder of Rebeldad.com: Brian will share his experiences and tips on how the at home dad can get the most out of the internet.
We have also set up a number of expert led sessions concerning nutrition, behavioral issues, parenting with confidence, and Pastor Mike's famous hair braiding session (very popular in the KC conventions). We will also have age based discussion groups led by fellow at home dads.
The local LinOma (Lincoln/Omaha) Dads group is working very hard to make this event in Omaha worthwhile for you to participate.
