Wow, the guest counts have been really high when I've been on the site a few times recently...any idea what is driving it? I've been on when there are 80-100 guests! We must be high up on some google search...

I just found you today (6/23) and have to conjecture that perhaps the stay-at-home dad is an involuntary solitary creature. I certainly have become one. I became a father in 2006 and since then I've left my job, lost touch with many friends, and have all-but-adopted a hermit's way of life with the exception of family obligations. I'm just looking for some advice and sanity. I'm only 39 and too young to be a codger of sorts. I love my wife and have a wonderful life, but some days are overwhelming. Love my son to a fault and fear falling short in my duties. You get the idea. Thanks for listening...

In addition, make yourselves known! Please join in on the conversations; it is a small world that gets even smaller when the isolation of Stay at Home Dad-dom walls close in. Everybody has something to contribute!
Hey Mike, what is our daily visitor count these days? It has to be growing exponentially!
To get Googled is a good thing...

The traffice could be from the radio program I was on. Since that aired my blog has been getting shitloads of traffice and google analytics tracks most of it as being referred to from the program's website. also linked on the site are rebel dad and athomedad.org. so they might explain the traffic... or it could just be there's more of us now ;-)
The traffic grows slowly but steadily each month. There is a small spike of traffic from the radio show (www.thestory.com). However, it's been relatively insignificant compared to our usual sources of traffic:
-Google searches: 50%
-Direct entry/bookmarks/returning visitors/etc 20%
-Links from blogs and other sites (rebeldad.com, chicagodads.com, nealpollack.com, wikipedia, and a few others. we're listed in lots of places but most blogs don't get much traffic and send even less): 10%
-Misc other search engines and sites (10%)
Some of our top google searches are:
maraka
stay at home dad
thomas train recall
tlc bringing home baby
la crosse dads
tag along bike
onion ring recipe
bringing home baby show
at-home dads convention
We are slowly climbing the ranks for "stay at home dad".

Honest...
I was just passing along a tasty food recipe that had another favorite topic of ours in it. BEER!
That dreaded onion ring topic is making another appearance, yet again!
Ticktock isn't going to be happy!
Cheers
Hey boss, what kinds of visitor numbers are we getting these days?
