My wife of 20 years took control of the family finances 22 mo's. ago, leaving me no choice but to file for divorce. Dispite the fact that I have finally succeeded in bringing her substance abuse problem to light in addition to the fact that our now 12 yr. old son & I have been in therapy for domestic abuse since Nov. '08 I have, to date, I haven't received one ruling in my favor in 16 mo's! Now, my wife is fighting for residential custody even though at this point, dispite joint therapy between mother and son, he remains afraid to even spend any time alone with her. I welcome any advise, help or support with this issue. I need to bring the system into the 21st cenury! Who out there will be next? THANKS
You would think.
I don't know the law to well but you would think a 12yr old would be considered old enough to make a decision on who he would want to live with.
maybe you need a better lawyer
Does your attorney specialize in primary caregiver father's rights? It sounds to me like they either don't know how to argue your case, or they secretly don't think your case has merit.
If your lawyer can't or won't get you ther results you need, you may want to start looking for another.
