I'm sitting here at the airport waiting for my flight home, a little tired, but so grateful for the time I spent here in Omaha.  A huge thank you goes out to all the convention planners who worked their butts off to put on a truly great program, the hospitality of all those in the Linoma Dads were great.   But most importantly, the guys that attended the convention need to be thanked as well for showing up and making the convention great.  After all, without the guys attending, there would be no convention.  And thanks to all the dads that helped all the new dads that came out, and for even helping some of the "repeat offenders" because occasionally, we need help too.

It was great seeing old friends, it was great meeting new ones, and I'm already looking forward to next year in Omaha!!

Feature story in local paper

Here is the link to the front page story in the Saturday Omaha World-Herald: http://www.omaha.com/article/20091010/NEWS01/710109942

The article was published Saturday instead of Sunday. Quite accurate and well-written.

I had a great time at the convention. It is good to know there is such a awesome group of guys like me out there. I look forward to getting involved with the Linoma Dads group now that I am aware of them. I just wanted to stay thanks again to everyone.

Fantastic time!!

I got home yesterday and my wife treated me to lunch along with the kids, I got home and took a 4 or 5 hour nap. My flight schedule sucked big time but I plan on doing it again. It was great to meet with other dads from various places. The LinOma guys did a great job and I was happy to meet them, even if I didn't win an additional t-shirt...lol

I've posted my pictures on Flickr after Andy's email and they are at http://www.flickr.com/photos/webdad1/ if anyone is interested. Bill has got some great pictures also.

It was good to hear that the issues I come across here at home are issues that you all come across but the way we handle them are different so getting a new perspective on things was a real help.

Hope to see you all again next year.

What a weekend!

What a convention!  What a great group of dads!  What a great time!

Thanks to all the newbies who attended.  As a veteran I always enjoy meeting the greenhorns like Tucker, Richard, Chad, Lance, Cameron, Shannon...... and hearing their stories.  I hope you guys will invite and bring another at-home dad with you next year.

Also great to reunite with veteran at-home dads like Jim L., Mike S., Andy F., Doug W., etal........

Huge thanks to Phil, Al, Robb, Mike and all the other Omaha dads who organized the convention and made it happen again.  It was another memorable event.

To all the guys who were in attendance look forward to seeing you in Omaha next year.

To those of you who couldn't make it I hope you start saving money so you can attend next year.  And if money is an issue contact the Convention Scholarship Committee via the convention website.  It's okay to ask for help.  If you don't ask, you don't get.

Make it a great daddy day!!!!

feeling like part of the group

I just wanted to say with so many dads there that were already connected either by attending the convention for years or by coming with a strong dad's group they belong to it would have been really easy to feel like an outsider at my first convention.  But I didn't.  From the Thursday I arrived at the hotel for DNO to dropping off some new friends in KC on the way home I felt like I was part of the group.  I hope all the first timers felt that way as well.

Thanks to everyone who organized the event, it was great. I am already looking forward to next year and already started working on some SAHD I know from MN to come next year.  And a special thanks to Liam and Hogan for talking me into staying until Sunday.

Chad

It was the least we could have done. Thanks for not asking for your free drink coupon back.
