Would be interested in hearing from dads if they would be interested in considering San Antonio, Texas as a potential site in the future for a Stay at Home Dad Convention. This is the home city for John Hagee Ministries, and Cornerstone Church. The idea is to have him or his son as a keynote speaker. It's ok to disagree with people, this would be an opportunity for his church to express their views to some of the dads that he talked about. Keep in mind, in the United States, there may be 150,000 of us. Those who attend, would represent all of us. Also, before you post, look into what San Antonio has to offer as a City and the people of San Antonio. The tourist sites, and the tourist infructure: i.e. hotels, transportation, airport, etc. Strongly believe that the actual presentation the views would be heard on both sides, and at the end people would walk away from it with good memories, and be comfortable with having had a Stay at Home Dad Convention in San Antonio, Texas.

I will be the convention chair for the next five years, so I'm the one to start with. I have heard many great things about SA. The only thing I haven't heard is if there is a strong and loyal local at home dad group that will support and do the work necessary to have a convention.
You'll have to identify yourself, though.
I Agree With Phil
I would be very happy to head to San Antonio to participate in a convention there. The very little I know of San Antionio would be well worth the trip to head there in my opinion. I am not sure that I would want to have John Hagee or anyone associated with him as a Key Note Speaker. I understand that you are saying in that we are free to disagree with people however, I feel that this would be more detrimental to the event than being a positive thing. I also agree with Phil that there has to be a strong group in San Antonio to do the leg work on the event and as well that you need to reveal yourself to everyone here.
Careful Boys
Could this be the ministry baiting the hook or somebody yanking our chain with the anonymous post?
I had not seen this post before and I cannot believe membership here would let the any mention of the John Hagee Ministries slide by so easily.
The first paragraph is the first mention of the ministries upfront ahead of anything positive about SA. Makes me think...

Sounds and Smells Fishy
Could be an attempt to deprogram some of us and save us from going to hell!
I'll take my chances with the at-home dad brethren.
Can I hear a "YES!" for the at-home dad lifestyle!
Can I also hear an "AMEN!" my proud and fellow at-home dad brothers!
Here Here
"YES!" YES!"
"AMEN"!
I Would Go!
I used to travel to San Antonio quite often when I had one of those job thingies. I always enjoyed going there. I think there are hotels near Riverwalk that are not too expensive. I stayed at a Hampton Inn that was on the river and 5 - 10 minute walk to the Riverwalk area. I am sure there are others, but it would be a good time.
Sure, why not. But who
Sure, why not.
But who gives a rat's ass about Hagee. He's a clown and doesnt deserve our attention or time. As I often tell my boys - "just ignore him and he'll eventually go away and quit bothering you...."
San Antonio is a Great Location
I'd love to see the convention in San Antonio and several other locations throughout the US. If you are really interested definitely get with Phil Andrew and get onboard to help out, Phil is the point man for convention planning.
I'm not sure how big the dads group is there in San Antonio, but I know there is one. The Austin dads group is quite large and active and I'd be willing to bet that they could help with one in San Antonio or host one in Austin . Either way, I seriously doubt we would want Hagee to be our keynote speaker. Weather you are joking or serious, that would not be someone we would be interested in hearing from. We have heard what he thinks, we don't care for his take on AHD's and it wouldn't lend to what the mission is of the convention, to help AHD's.
