For the next Convention, wherever it is, consider making this question an official Convention topic. Invite local religous leaders to dissect the argument, look at the research, and draw conclusions. Putting it to the Convention would be away to hear both sides in an open forum.

1) stop posting Anonymously and people here might take you more seriously.
2) I am a member of several at-home-dad BB's and forums, and have been to 4 or 5 conventions, and have quite a few at-home-dad friends. Frankly, from what I see and hear, nobody really cares that some religious zealots think we're bums. IMO, there are many, many other more worthwhile and rewarding convention topics out there.
Its been discussed
but our day is packed already. It was one of the first topics to be off the table, even thought we have two great at home dads to lead it: Mike Njus and Bill Eckhardt.
Don't worry about some religious nutcase
These types of nuts have always found a willing audience in the weak-willed and the narrow-minded. If someone bothers to quote these nutcases, ask them a simple question....Does the God you believe in preach hate on a regular basis or is He more about love and tolerance?
If your God preaches love and understanding and the man or woman leading your faith group preaches hate or segregation based on gender or anything else, then are they really representing the God you believe in? It's a simple matter of God's word vs Man's interpretation and anyone who preaches hate should probably worry you more than the message they are preaching and the nitwits who believe them.

At home dads as bums
We are as much bums as women who stay home with their kids are.

PS I loved riding the rails with my toddlers, they are very good about coaxing food from people who live by the tracks. They were very good about sleeping in boxcars seeing the sites. Hey, that Children's museum looks a lot like a salvage yard! :)

NO! Although a lot of people are bums, this cannot and should not be placed on gender. My wife works ten hours a day 5 days a week. She makes lots of money. I myself work 12hrs a day 7 days a week and 000000000000. My friends tell me that I am a lucky guy, I tell them you think so. My wife just left me with her lots of money. I havent worked a paycheck job in three years. So you tell me am I a BUM or just a lucky guy
