Hi there. I have checked out several places for Stay at Home Dads online and this looks like a pretty good one. I am not one yet but soon will be with my twins on the way and my adorable three year old running around. Soon as the new ones are born I plan to start being a regular stay at home dad and pull my daugther out of daycare to help save money. I am currently on the look out for a part time job on the side to help our income. Hopefully this side proves to be a good support for me in this new adventure. Thank you

David

Hi David! No need to feel

Hi David!

No need to feel bad... things are a little slow on this board at the moment, but you are of course welcome!  I'm not a stay-at-home dad at the moment either... but I was for a year last year, and will be again for a while starting in May.  So, welcome!

As far as the financial stuff goes, I wouldn't be too scared.  As long as you're responsible with money, and careful, it's just not that bad.  The money you save from child-care is no small sum (I'm sure you know), and the money you save being at home (cooking your own meals, and so on) is pretty serious too.  I've not felt a huge change in our family's finances.

Great to meet you, and best wishes,

Scott

Does seem like there are a lot of good topics here. I think its important for guys to stick together to encourage one another. My wife has been really sick in her first trimester with the twins. And my three year old is wild. I am going to start looking for a night job soon to help with the income. We are also trying to get some new cars as well. So much. I just need to make sure my wife is ready for this.

Be patient!

Guys will post from time to time so keep checking back. Also, there is an opportunity to meet many of the guys here face to face at the 15th Annual At-Home Dad Convention (www.athomedadconvention.com) in Omaha, NE on Oct. 2. Many more details will be coming in a month or two.

Oh, and hello and good luck from Omaha!
