Beware of dark flooring

The place we are renting now has dark parquet flooring throughout the kitchen and main living area.  It looked really nice when we first moved in a year ago - it had just been oiled and was striking and lusterous.  I quickly noticed, however, that on a dark floor, every single crumb and fluff of dust show up like a flashing neon sign contrasting against a moonless sky.  Poetry aside, it is really annoying.  I am not interested in sweeping or vacuuming the whole place every day, but I kind of have to.  So, to all of you who think dark flooring looks nice:  it is a pain in the ass and only looks nice the first couple hours after you wash it.

I FEEL YOUR PAIN

we dont have the dark flooring we have the dark mahogony furniture i can dust in the morning and by the next day its noticeable now we do have a dog who is in and out all day but is groomed every two weeks and we even have our vents covered with cheese cloth(suggestion from the company that cleaned our ducts) Swifter makes a couple things that are great the duster and the dust mop light wieght and you can use the pads sometimes up to three times GOOD LUCK!!
