Get out!

Just grab that boy, put the puppy on a leash and go for a long walk.  As often as possible.  What else do you need to know?  :)

Try the gym...

One thing that has worked for me is hitting the local YMCA.  We got lucky in that ours has a pretty good kid play area, with the big crawling tubes and lots of lego play areas.  My daughter turned 2 in December and sometimes gets pushed around by the 3-4 year olds, but time and patience has taught me to plan around the times when those guys are rolling out of whatever classes they are taking.  It's also a bonus when other 2-year-olds are around.  Take something to read though, the SAH mom's tend to be more than a little stand-offish.

Also, sometimes there is a kid care service that will allow you to cut out and work out in the gym!

I'll try the ymca.Whenever

I'll try the ymca.Whenever we go to the playground he is the only one who is there without a buddy. So he gets excluded and pushed around by the older kids.It sucks.

Where do you live?

Are there any dad's groups near you. A good dad's group goes a long way towards bring sanity back. If there isn't one, start one. Ask for help on how to do that on websites like this. We have been through it, and might be able to help you along the way. Keep your head in the game, this is an awesome gig, once you find your footing.

P.S. Try taking your kid to something you really enjoy doing. Explaining things you like fascinates kids and makes you happy too. I found this out at the horsetrack where, incidentally, we each picked a horse and one a $23 quinella. Keep trying new things.

Help its almost a yr and im still struggling

After heart surgery a yr ago a decision was made that I stay home and raise my 10 yr old son and my 4 yr old daughter. The loss of identity is very overwhelming and unexpected. I used to be an airconditioning repair man in the Phoenix area and am used to working hard and long hours in a "MAN'S PROFESSION'' now im more worried about the decision to buy a Mr. Steamy or if there just a scam. (if any one has had luck with one please let me know) I also find myself at this point worring about being lonley during the day when my daughter goes to school full time next yr. If any one has words of wisdom on how there dealing with some of these issues it would be greatly appreciated. If there is no great words of wisdom Ill except some BS if just puts me at ease.
