Until you get the hang of things, just try to remember that it is your TIME that is most important with your kids over pretty much anything else. If you're stone broke, you can still spend time holding your kids, singing to them, reading to them, talking with them about anything they're interested in, showing them practically anything, explaining how stuff works, having a goofy face competition, taking walks, playing in the park or your yard, making a flashlight beam race around the ceiling-- WHATEVER.

Believe me, this stuff is more important than pretty much anything else.
