Too late for the convention?

Hey all,

By the time I found out about the convention, I believe it was too late!  Gotta get on this for next year, for sure.  One question though - I was wondering if anyone in the Denver, CO area would be willing (if able) to get copies of documentation, business cards, etc for me?  It would go very far in assisting me with networking, and I can reciprocate as well!

Anyone interested, in case I officially can't go?

-R.

Hello, from a new member

Hey all - just joined yesterday, and wanted to say a little hello.  I've been a SAHD full-time for 2 years, and on & off for about three years before that.  I have 3 boys, and my littlest one just started kindergarten yesterday.  Kind of proud, yet rough times, you know?  Anyway, I seem to have a lot of time on my hands now, so anyone feel free to hit me up.

Discrimination

So, I have been a stay at home dad for 11 years now and have been "discriminated" against many times. This is the last straw, I have to tell you what happened:

Parenting Wiki

MileHiDad's picture

I have created a new parenting Wiki and am looking for authors  for content.

This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground level creating useful information for the Colorado Parent.

Authoring is not that difficult, but there is a learning curve.  Help to get started.

Wiki is here.

At Home Dads Brainstorming Session

At-Home Dads Brainstorming Session - February 3, 2009
What: www.Coloradodads.com is hosting a brainstorming session on ways to reach out, support and resource at home dads in Colorado.

Time: February 3, 2009 @ 6:00 p.m.

S@HD in Littleton, CO

Hello!
Hmm . . . where to start?

Dad info:
Well, I am a 27 and a new father of a baby boy as of July 15th 2008. His name is Cecil David after my grandfather and my wife's father.

Where I'm coming from:
Back in Fall 2007, my wife's father was diagnosed with cancer. He died in December that year. We found out that my wife was pregnant in early November, so he knew that we were having a child.
In may of last year we moved into our first house. Then in July the baby came and changed our lives even more.

Colorado Springs SAHDs

I'm moving to Colorado Springs soon and didn't find a SAHDs group down there. Myself and my 3 year old daughter currently belong to the Denver chapter and need a group in the Springs, so why not start one!

We try to get together once a week, if not more often, at a home, park or take a field trip somewhere fun. Very, very laid back.

These groups are great for both the dad and the kiddo. It allows all of us to make new friends, something a SAHD is hard to do when he moves to a new area.

So if you live in the Springs, please help me start this group.

Jamie

Just a way for the dad's and kids to hang out and get through it all.

Congress Park/Denver Dad looking for other Dads

Note: I received this as an "anonymous question", but it doesn't really make sense for it to be anonymous....so I'm putting it here.

Hi,

I am a new father, to a 3 month old named Nora. I am staying at home (and working remotely via computer 20 hrs/wk) with her while mom (who is a resident at the Univ. of CO) is quite busy. I am looking for Dads to get out and stay active, share tips/tricks, and even trade occasional care. I live at 11th and York - close to Cheesman Park, the Botanic Gardens & Congress Park.

Hello, it's me

Wow, don't know why that Todd Rundgren song started running through my head.

My name is Paul and I've started posting as CreativeDad. I have two kids, 4 and 9. Been married very happily for 12 years (2nd marriage). I was laid off in 2001 from IT management (thank GOD!) and have been a SAHD for various periods since then.
