Relatively new dad looking to connect

Hi all,

I'm the father of an almost 4 month old, and just found this site.

I am continuously surprised by the number of activities for new moms that exclude new dads here in the Lexington, MA area. I came to this site originally to see if there were local dads groups (haven't found one yet), but figure I'll look around a bit and see what I can find while I'm here.

Why does it seem that there are moms groups (many), dads groups (a few) but virtually no parent groups open to either parent of a newborn?

I joined this site a little while ago and have enjoyed monitoring the message boards and checking out the photos from the convention. I'm hoping to attend next year.

Anyway, I live outside Boston and am interested in recruiting a few dads for a regular play group. So far my group has two committed dads, a 16-month old girl and a nearly 5-month old girl.

I'd appreciate anybody here passing along the word to guys in the Boston area who might be interested.

My name is Dave and I live in Newton. I have a five-year-old son and a three-month-old daughter. My friend Ray has a five-year-old son and a one-year-old daughter. We're looking for a few more dads with kids who aren't yet in preschool to hang out once in a while, talk about rock music and eat doughnuts.

New to the business

Hi Everyone. I am a new stay at home Dad to be. My wife is a teacher who goes back to work on Sept 4th leaving me home with my daughter Madeline who will then be 5 months old. Just wanted to put my self out there and say hello. Also, does anyone know of anywhere I could find info on any playgroups/athome dad groups stationed in opr around the area of Boston, MA. Thanks again.
