Convention Update: Speakers and MoreMinnesota is the Land of 10,000 Lakes, and getting the kids into nature is part of our culture. No matter where you spend your summers, the benefits of time spent outdoors with your children are undeniable. HomeDadCon 2019 is going to help you get them outside with the help of some great people.
Sam Olson is an instructor at Free Forest School where the mission is getting children to learn through unstructured play in nature.
In their personal and professional lives, each of these HomeDadCon speakers are committed to helping kids, families, and dads. Whether the instrument they use is a campground, a canoe, a parenting group, or a guitar, their goal is the same: better families through better connections.
Come meet them at HomeDadCon 2019 September 26th-28th. Regular registration ends August 27th, which is also the last day to book a room at our venue hotel, Embassy Suites Downtown Minneapolis at our special HomeDadCon rate. Click here to get your ticket to the 24th Annual At-Home Dad Convention.
Maura and Bobby recently made a short documentary film about getting outdoors with the kids. It’s called The Arrowhead Traverse and was voted “Best Kids Film” at the 2019 Wild & Scenic Film Festival. Music by The Okee Dokee Brothers. Amazon Prime members can view their documentary right now for free: HERE.
In addition to two days of convention programming, the pre-convention activities include kayaking the Mississippi River, a professional soccer match with the Minnesota United FC, a photography tour of downtown Minneapolis and more. This month we would like to highlight another HomeDadCon Volunteer, Chris Wilcoxon. Chris is a Minnesota stay at home dad from Eagan, just southeast of Minneapolis. Chris volunteers with the HomeDadCon Planning Committee planning the elective activities. He is organizing the soccer match at Allianz Field where the MN United FC will take on Kansas City on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM. Chris is married and has two very active children at home. He is also an event organizer for Twin Cities Dads Group, and in his spare time likes to game. You will probably find him after hours at HomeDadCon defeating his SAHD foes in a board game or two!
