MILWAUKEE (Aug. 16, 2023) – The National At-Home Dad Network is proud to present HomeDadCon 2023 - the 27th Annual At-Home Dads Convention - taking place Sept. 22-23, 2023, at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee in downtown Milwaukee. Over 90 attendees from 25 states and the Netherlands will gather for the weekend.

HomeDadCon is a fatherhood focused parenting convention, covering a wide range of topics and issues that matter to dads and families. Speakers, panelists, and sponsors include parenting authors, businesses, filmmakers, a grandma, professors, researchers, and therapists who understand and support the nonprofit organization’s mission: To empower at-home dads and champion a culture that recognizes them as capable and competent parents.

“Every year The National At-Home Dad Network looks forward to bringing dads from across the country, and even the world, to reaffirm, reconnect, and recharge as parents. Working with dedicated dads from City Dads Group Milwaukee has made preparing for this year’s convention a breeze, and we’re excited to show the city what dedicated at-home dads look like,” said Jonathan Heisey-Grove, President of The National At-Home Dad Network.

HomeDadCon will feature 16 keynote and breakout sessions spread out over the two-day convention, including topics such as “Dads Married to High-Commitment Spouses,” “Gender Inclusivity and Breaking the Binary,” and “Self Care Without the Guilt.”

Noelle Chesley, Ph.D., MPA, Sociology Chair at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, will be presenting her research on Men in Caring Roles and the benefits for families and society.

Families with a primary caregiving father continue to be rare,” she said. “This fact has significant implications for gender equality and the ‘crisis of care’ many individuals and families are struggling with today.”

Jordan Brown, LPC, and colleague Amy Dell, LPC, of No Worries Wellness LLC in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, will address the Imposter Syndrome that many face in fatherhood.

Writer-Producers Adam Rodgers and Tom Ventimiglia, along with actor Vince Eisenson, will present “Filming Dadlife,” discussing how they created “Turf Valley,” their award-winning comedy series about at-home dads (featuring three-time Super Bowl champion Charles Mann), and how parenting and artistic practice inspire each other.

Sara Gordon, Local Grandma and Master Tailor, will present Sewing for the At-Home Dad, specifically, how to patch those pesky knee holes.

At-Home Dads From Across the Country to Gather in Phoenix for HomeDadCon 2022

Fathers attend “Professional Development for Professional Dads” at the 26th Annual At-Home Dads Convention

Phoenix, AZ – The National At-Home Dad Network (TNAHDN) is proud to present HomeDadCon 2022 - the 26th Annual At-Home Dads Convention - taking place September 29th through October 1st, in Phoenix, AZ. Local dads from Phoenix City Dads, along with members of TNAHDN from across the country have volunteered hundreds of hours organizing this year’s event. Previous convention cities included Orlando, Portland, Raleigh, Denver, Washington D.C., Kansas City, Minneapolis, and Chicago.

HomeDadCon is a fatherhood focused parenting convention, covering a wide range of topics and issues that matter to dads and families. Our speakers and panels include parenting experts, researchers, authors, and businesses who understand and support our mission:

We are a community of dads from the local area, all across the country, and some even from overseas. Below are some of their inspiring words:

“As someone who made the decision to treat my role as the primary caregiver in our family as my job, nothing helped me build skills, confidence, pride, and a community like HomeDadCon. Every year it's been the best thing I do for myself to thrive in that role. Being in a room with a hundred dads that do what you do can't help but inspire you to go home a better dad.”

Chris Routly, Past President, TNAHDN, father of two

“It changed my life. Made me proud to own what I do and introduced me to people I consider my closest friends.”

-Matt Strain, Secretary, TNAHDN, father of two

“10 years ago I became a stay-at-home dad. In the first year, I learned about and participated in The National At-Home Dad Network’s annual convention, now known as HomeDadCon. The community, the emotional support, and the education was amazing.

"HomeDadCon is unlike any other convention for parenting that you can find. It's men supporting men being primary caregivers, while giving them the tools to be better in their role.”

- Jonathan Heisey-Grove, President, TNAHDN, father of two

Our official hotel and event venue is the Residence Inn By Marriott-Phoenix Downtown. The Residence Inn is located in the heart of downtown, with free breakfasts, full kitchens in room and a Starbucks on site!

Trans Visibility Day 3/31/2022

Nothing is more empowering than being able to live and love openly, authentically, and safely. On this Trans Day of Visibility, we recognize the victories won by the trans community, we honor the transgender people needlessly taken from us, and ask everyone to recommit energies in the fight for full equality and equity. Trans folx continue to face an unacceptable epidemic of violence and harmful discrimination in access to health care, employment, housing, and so much more. Trans people are our neighbors, our family, our friends, our children, and our fellow dads. They deserve to live with dignity and to be treated fairly in every part of life. We stand in solidarity with the transgender community as we both celebrate progress and continue our long march toward liberation, peace, and equality.

The National At-Home Dad Network is partnered with the Trans Youth Equality Foundation for our RAD! (Really Accepting Dads) campaign. Get your RAD! shirt to show your support. 100% of the proceeds go to support Trans Youth Equality Foundation and their efforts to support transgender youth and their families.
