Procter & Gamble and Albertsons Companies to be Title Presenters for HomeDadCon 2017.
The 22nd Annual At-Home Dads Convention Will Bring Together Primary Caregiver Dads for “Professional Development for Professional Dads.”
Portland, OR — The National At-Home Dad Network (“NAHDN”) is thrilled to announce that Procter & Gamble (“P&G”) and Albertsons Companies will be the Title Presenters for HomeDadCon 2017, also known as the 22nd Annual At-Home Dads Convention.
“I could not be more excited that Procter & Gamble and Albertsons Companies are coming on board to help us present HomeDadCon this year,” said Chris Routly, current President of the NAHDN Board of Directors. “Their support helps us put on an amazing weekend for attendees, at as low a cost as possible, but it also speaks volumes about how they are making a point to value the contributions that fathers who are primary caregiver for their children are making for their families. We’ll have more to come from our Presenters as we get closer to September on how they are stepping up to support primary caregiver dads, and we can’t wait to share.”
HomeDadCon organizers expect a record attendance for this, the 22nd year for one of the longest-running annual fatherhood conferences in America. Dads from across the country will convene to learn or improve parenting skills, network with other dads, hear from quality speakers and parenting experts, and advocate for fathers in regular caregiver roles for their families.
HomeDadCon 2017 will take place September 14-16 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Portland, Oregon. The only convention of its kind in the nation, HomeDadCon is focused specifically on bringing together fathers who are a regular source of care for their children, regardless of their marital or employment status. The event is presented annually by the NAHDN, a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)3 nonprofit, dedicated to providing advocacy, community, education, and support for families where fathers are in that caregiver role.
“People often ask me what HomeDadCon is all about, and we like to describe it as ‘professional development for professional dads,’ because we really embrace what we do for our families as our most important job.” said Routly. “We all want to learn to do that job even better, so as much as anyone else would go to a conference related to their vocation, we too want a chance to learn. As well, this is a great opportunity just to give at-home dads a chance to meet and get to know others who do the same job. It can be a life-changing experience for a dad who is isolated or feeling unsupported in his role as a caregiver.”
