The speaker and breakout session lineup for the 19th Annual National At-Home Dads Convention Delivered by Huggies® is set.

Barbara Coloroso of Kids Are Worth It will be the keynote speaker of the event, held in Denver, CO, Sept. 19-20. The internationally known speaker and author will present on Saturday morning. She is an expert in parenting, teaching, school discipline and non-violent conflict resolution and will discuss parenting with wit and wisdom.

Alberto Pellicer from the Denver Public Library, a popular presenter at the 2013 convention, will lead off the convention on Friday afternoon with a discussion called, “Play is a Serious Business.” He will address the importance of play in the development of children of all ages and how it impacts their success in school and beyond.

Also on Friday will be a discussion panel, “Spouses and Partners of Stay-at-Home Dads,” where our better halves will talk about the challenges they face, along with the positive impacts, of gender role reversal, stereotypes and the important role they play in successful family function.

Concluding the Friday sessions at the 19th Annual At-Home Dads Convention Delivered by Huggies will be a presentation by Sarah Tilton called Birth to Seat Belt, sponsored by Britax. Tilton, a child passenger safety advocacy manager for Britax, will cover child passenger safety, heat stroke awareness and prevention, front overs and back overs prevention all the way to older kids getting ready to drive.

Saturday afternoon, following Coloroso’s presentation and lunch provided by Animal Jam, will be filled with breakout sessions with topics of interest to all involved fathers.

Sessions begin with the always popular age-based forums where dads can openly talk about the ups and downs of different childhood stages. There will be rooms for infants and toddlers, preschool, elementary school and middle and high school aged kids.

After that the topics range from money and the family, emergency preparedness and cross fit for kids to photography, starting a dads group and homeschooling, among other great and educational topics.
