All Pro Dad Presentation

by Mike Bates "Domestic Engineer"

For those of you who missed my presentation at the conference, it is here.  This link wasn’t meant to drive traffic away from this site or anything,  I am just tired from the weekend of traveling and I got a full slate of volunteer work this week that’s going to keep me hopping and I don’t want […]

Just Do It

by Mike Bates "Domestic Engineer"

The All Pro Dad Breakfast, http://www.allprodad.com/, is a monthly breakfast meeting of profound impact. Dads and kids will meet, share breakfast, watch a video and have a discussion within the school atmosphere where a Dad is all to often not present because of work obligations. I initiated this process and was in the Principal’s Office more than when I was in school! I will be giving a reakout sessions at the upcoming AtHomeDad Convention on my All Pro Dad experiences.

Things that Every SAHD Should Know

by Shannon Carpenter

So far I’ve written posts  about How To Cook, What’s it Like to be a SAHD, and  A SAHD and His Man Bag.  I do this in an effort to educate.  To give my knowledge to those that are going down the same path or that are thinking about it.  Let’s face it, I’m a […]

Dads Groups Should Become More Inclusive

by lsomerfeld

From the desk of:       NYC Dads Group At last year’s at-home dad convention in Omaha, Nebraska, I vividly remember a meaningful conversation regarding the exclusivity of being a stay-at-home dads group vs. being a stay-at-home ‘parents’ group (and allowing moms to be members as well).   The overall consensus from the participants of this conversation seemed […]

by Al Watts

In our lives there are many turning points. The significance of these events are not always seen at the time, but when we reflect on our lives, these can be seen as truly life-altering. One such moment for me was when I met Gary McVey. In January of 2004 I was beginning my second year […]

Blogging the Word, Bringing It On and Being Awesome

In order to Bring It On With Style you need to practice what you preach, you got the time, and you got the motivation every time you look down and see that precious smile and those eyes. Just do it! Soon you will develop your speech and have your standard opening, standard closing to the point where you just have to tweak the content to your audience with an accompanying slideshow

How To Cook A HotDog

by Shannon Carpenter

Welcome to the world of the Stay At Home Dads or as I like to call it, Thunderdome. When I was a new stay at home dad, I had no idea what I was doing.  I’ll admit it, I can man up and take the blow.  I was ignorant about all things kids.  That’s not […]

So You Want To Be a New Cub Scout Leader?

Scouting just isn’t for the kids, it takes an active parent in scouting and you need parents help at the meetings to share the wealth. So if you are a parent, please consider being an active part of scouting, this way you get input on planned activities and input on the Packs workings. So, either grin and take what comes with the program or be there and be involved with the Pack. Did I fail to mention that you also get to wear a cool uniform?
